“Every dad, if he takes time out of his busy life to reflect upon his fatherhood, can learn ways to become an even better dad.” —Jack Baker

Dear Faithful Partner,

I have now fully stepped in as the Executive Director and I am thrilled at the opportunity God has placed before me, and also fully aware of the “big” shoes I am filling. Lisa, being at the helm for 15 years, has set me in a position prepared for success. The training and time that she personally and professionally invested in me is invaluable, but I must say the most impactful thing she did for me was to look me square in the eyes and say that she has full confidence in me and she knows that I am the right person to succeed her as Executive Director.

It is with great joy that I would like to brag, if you would, about a program that has begun with the assistance and facilitation of a man that God literally sent into our center doors. I have been working with Ryan Berryman from San Bernardino Fatherhood with the assistance of our current male volunteers, Scott, Tom, and Warren, to provide men in our community a time to come together and be guided through the tough issues of being a Dad.

As many of you know this has been a part of the plan that Lisa had for the center for many years, and now God has fulfilled that for dads in our community. It is just amazing that God allowed Lisa to see Him complete this vision during her time here. This is an area that Lisa wanted to incorporate into this ministry for years and now before her retirement, God sent Ryan into our center and has started this amazing men’s mentoring program.

I am now prayerfully seeking someone who would be interested in leading a parallel program for our moms. If that is you please stop by and let’s talk, there is a complete curriculum for this mentoring program, just no facilitator, yet.

As many of you know, summertime is our “light” season for giving, currently, we are below budget about 25%. I prayerfully ask if you are a current monthly supporter do you have room in your budget to increase your monthly giving amount? Do you know someone or could you introduce someone that has a heart for our ministry that wants to stand in the gap and financially support this ministry and what we do to educate our community? I encourage you to share who we are and what we do with people in your area of influence, many hands make for light work. In advance, I thank you for your current and ongoing support.

Now, let’s focus on our Fall Event “Por La Vida” coming up on October 25th. I am so excited to have Mike G Williams, who is a nationally known speaker and writer who has a passion for life. Mike came to popularity as a pro-life speaker after Focus on the Family brought his personal story to a national spotlight. Mark your calendars now, and join me at Immanuel Baptist Church in Highland, October 25th at 7 pm. Please contact me if you are interested in being a table host and/or a table sponsor.

Thank you for your continued support, I appreciate you.

Blessing,

Kathleen Jones
